We can accommodate up to 47 people in our dormitories. We offer an evening meal of homemade soup, raclette, fondue Savoyarde, cheese and dessert, and breakfast in the morning.
During the day we serve a selection of meals, drinks and snacks…
Our specialties : blueberry pie, blueberry juice and our selection of beer and french wine.
There is also a shelter available in the off season, without kitchen or heating.
A little bit of history
The current refuge is named after Alfred Wills, a British magistrate who was passionate about the area. It was built by the Commune of Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval between 1980 and 1981. Located in the heart of the old mountain pasture of Anterne, the Chalets of Anterne were used in the past by the “communiers” of Sixt in the Summer (for Spring and Autumn grazing, they used to go to the twin pasture of “Les Fonts”). The mountain pasture of Anterne was purchased by the Commune of Passy in 1901 and returned in 1961. We are thus situated on the Commune of Passy but on land belonging to Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval.
The refuge is open every day from 8 June to 28 September 2024.
We look forward to welcoming you for dinner, to spend a night in our dormitories, and for a buffet breakfast (eggs upon request) in peaceful surroundings of our majestic mountains.
Facilities : Dry room for rainy days, 3 toilets and sinks. Snacks during the day. For the night, don’t forget to bring a sheet or liner (duvets and pillows are supplied).
It is recommended to book in advance.

General Conditions of Sale of the Alfred Wills refuge:
Cancellation conditions: in the event of cancellation occurring less than 2 days before the scheduled arrival date, your deposit will be retained by our establishment. Between 8 and 21 days before your arrival, the deposit will be carried over to a next stay in the same season. More than 21 days before your arrival date, the deposit will be refunded. Missing persons in a group or a family, late arrivals, early departures or unused services do not give rise to any defrayal or reimbursement. Prices whith tourist tax : 0.90 € / pers

ACCESS
By plane:
Geneva Airport Switzerland (60 km from Samoëns and 65km from Sixt)
By car:
895km from Calais. Motorway A40 Geneva-Chamonix. Exit Cluses-Scionzier, then Samoëns about 20 mins and Sixt.
By train:
Cluses SNCF station, 20 km from Samoëns
… then take the D907 to Sixt Fer à cheval. Follow the signs the « cascade du Rouget » and further to the « Lignon » carpark (end of the road).
